Gov. Beshear Joins Medvantx To Cut Ribbon on Newly Expanded Louisville Operation, a $26.8 Million Investment Creating 122 New Jobs
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 16, 2026) – Today, Gov. Andy Beshear joined local officials and leaders from Medvantx, a leading pharmacy services company, to cut the ribbon on the company’s newly expanded, high-capacity distribution facility in Louisville. With a nearly $27 million investment, Medvantx is creating 122 new Kentucky jobs helping to distribute prescriptions across Kentucky and the rest of the United States and its territories.
“Kentucky’s pharmacy and healthcare logistics sectors have seen tremendous growth in recent years because of our skilled workforce and business-friendly resources,” said Gov. Beshear. “Today’s ribbon-cutting represents another quality company choosing to reinvest in the commonwealth. The 122 jobs created by this project mean more opportunities for Kentuckians to provide for their families. I want to thank Medvantx’s leaders for believing in Kentucky and look forward to their continued success here in Louisville.”
The expanded operation enables Medvantx to increase its current pharmacy distribution capabilities to support future growth, more than doubling the company’s Kentucky footprint. Developed in collaboration with UPS Healthcare and Innovation Associates (iA), the new facility leverages best-in-class pharmacy automation technologies to increase throughput and reduce manual touchpoints, supporting compliant pharmaceutical fulfillment. The Louisville operation specializes in serving patients in need through a variety of pharmaceutical industry-sponsored programs, from dispensing and shipping free or low-cost medications to providing patient counseling with pharmacists on staff.
“Improving patient access is at the heart of everything we do at Medvantx,” said Medvantx CEO Kurt Browning. “Last year, our company served more than 10,000 Kentuckians in need, and hundreds of thousands of patients across America. With our expanded operations, we look forward to helping our pharmaceutical industry customers serve more patients.”
Founded in 2000, Medvantx is a pharmacy services provider operating one of the largest independent, noncommercial dispensing pharmacies in the United States. The company is committed to improving lives by enhancing medication access, connecting patients, health care providers and organizations through innovative services and technology. The company leverages technology to connect patients, providers and healthcare organizations, helping pharmaceutical manufacturers administer patient assistance, bridge/quick start, direct-to-patient, sample distribution, clinical support and other commercialization programs that improve access to medications.
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg highlighted the region’s strong logistics network: “Louisville is America’s home for express logistics, and this investment from Medvantx is proof that it’s also a fantastic place for businesses to grow and reach their customers faster. Every day, medications and medical devices prepared here will reach patients in communities across America, moving through one of the most sophisticated logistics networks on the planet. This nearly $27 million investment and 122 new jobs strengthen an important part of our healthcare and life-sciences economy, in addition to building on the logistics strength we’ve spent years intentionally developing around UPS Worldport. Thank you to the Medvantx team for continuing to choose Louisville.”
One Louisville CEO Trevor Pawl is excited to continue working with the company: “Medvantx’s growth is a direct result of One Louisville’s work to target industries where our region’s strengths give us a real edge, and life sciences is a prime example. Companies in this space need serious logistics power, and few places can match what Louisville has with UPS Worldport and UPS Healthcare Labport. That’s exactly the case we make to attract investments like this one, and it’s why Medvantx chose to double down here with more investment and new jobs. We’re proud to have Kurt Browning and the Medvantx team as partners in growing Louisville’s life sciences economy.”
Medvantx’s investment and job creation furthers what has been the best six-year period for economic growth in state history.
Since the beginning of his administration, Gov. Beshear has announced nearly 1,400 private-sector new-location and expansion projects totaling over $54 billion in announced investments, creating approximately 71,000 jobs. This is the highest investment figure secured during the tenure of any governor in the commonwealth’s history and $33 billion more than the next highest total.
Gov. Beshear has announced some of the largest economic development projects in state history, which have solidified Kentucky as the battery capital of the United States: AESC’s $2 billion, 2,000-job gigafactory project in Warren County; Ford Motor Co.’s $2 billion, 2,200-job commitment in Louisville, as well as its $2 billion, 2,100-job project at the Kentucky 1 plant in Hardin County; Shelbyville Battery Manufacturing’s $712 million investment, creating 1,572 jobs in Shelby County; and Toyota’s $1.3 billion investment in Scott County, among others.
In February, the Governor announced Kentucky once again set an all-time record for products shipped globally, with $51.6 billion in exports in 2025, representing a 7.65% increase over 2024.
Unemployment rates fell in all 120 counties between December 2024 and December 2025.
The Governor’s administration also secured the largest General Fund budget surplus and Rainy Day Fund. In 2023, Kentucky recorded over 2 million jobs filled for the first time ever and has stayed above that number ever since.
In addition, Kentucky has secured rating increases from major credit rating agencies Fitch Ratings, S&P Global Ratings and Moody’s Investors Service.
Earlier this year, Site Selection magazine ranked Kentucky in the top five nationally and second in the South Central region for economic development projects per capita in its 2025 Governor’s Cup rankings. In June, Area Development magazine awarded the commonwealth a Silver Shovel designation in its 2025 Shovel Awards, which highlight states for attracting high-value investment projects that will create a significant number of new jobs in their communities.
Gov. Beshear also announced a new initiative, called New Kentucky Home, to increase economic investment, attain and attract talent, and increase tourism across the state.
To encourage investment and job growth in the community, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) in October 2024 preliminarily approved an incentive agreement with the company under the Kentucky Business Investment program.
